Well now this just makes me sad.  Personally, I would have chosen:

funemployment / ajd - taking advantage of one's newly unemployed status to have fun or pursue other interests. 

Or maybe: 

intexticated / adj - a state of distraction caused by texting while driving a vehicle.

I definitely could have come up with something better than unfriend to sum up the year.

Reasons To Be Happy: Reason #3 - Pillow Talk

Bedtime last night.

BuddyBoy:  "Mommy, whisper something in my ear."
Me:  "I love you."
BuddyBoy:  "Mommy, whisper something else."
Me:  "I love cookies."
BuddyBoy:  "Mommy, I love you...because you give me healthy food...and because you're the most funnest mommy EVER."
Me:  Smile.  Sniff.  Big squeeze.

(And I have NO idea where the "healthy food" thing came from, we had fish sticks and tater tots for dinner!)

Reasons To Be Happy: Reason #2 - A Pretty Surprise

The mad morning rush:  dress & feed the kids, get buckled in the car, race out the driveway....  Ugh!  What's that trash in my yard?  Surprise!  It's last year's paperwhites.  Smile.

Reasons To Be Happy: Reason #1 - Fall Colors...

...and a 5 year old with a camera and nothing more important to do than take pictures of pretty leaves.
